P5 Version 7 New Container Storage Format

The upcoming Archiware P5 version 7 has a new container storage format for backup and archive to cloud storage. This new format makes it possible to reduce the transmission overhead between source and destination for more efficient use of cloud storage.

This new container storage format is necessary for two reasons: Firstly it allows more efficient writing to cloud object storage, and secondly more practical deletion of data when it’s no longer required because it falls outside of the backup retention period.

Why Scaling Images Looks So Awful So Often

When scaling an image, the pixel size remains the same. What changes is that the color contents of a single pixel are either stretched to spread across multiple pixels (scaling up) or deleted to reduce the number of pixels in an image (scaling down).

How to Archive Data with P5's Enhanced LTFS Solution
