Good morning, and welcome to the Tuesday, Nov. 6 edition of the Saints Insider newsletter. Are you a glass half full or glass half empty type? rut [GROOVE]Just a few weeks ago, the Saints ship appeared to be sinking. They'd lost four out of five and were fading in a mediocre division. Decidedly, the Saints were stuck in a rut. Now they're winners of two straight and enter the second half of the season as the NFC South leaders. Their much-maligned offense is averaging 28.7 points in its last three games, and the opportunistic defense is leading the NFL in takeaways. As columnist Jeff Duncan posits, the Saints beat the Chicago Bears with what felt like their C-plus game. And you know what? They're not going to apologize for the win. Here's why Duncan thinks there might be more good things on the horizon for the Saints. Taysom to CantonOkay, so maybe the bronze bust of the Saints do-it-all man is a long shot, but Taysom Hill will be represented in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. And why not? He just accomplished a feat that nobody has done since before the Super Bowl existed. And speaking of Hill, you should read Rod Walker's column on why he means so much to this current version of the team. The coin prophet ridesLoved this story from Doug MacCash: At the start of the season, Who Dat Matthew Lauricella flipped a quarter to playfully predict the outcome of every upcoming New Orleans Saints game. Lauricella is now 9-0 on his predictions this season. To keep this thing going, the Saints need a win next week against the Minnesota Vikings. We've got plenty more for you over at NOLA.com. Thanks for reading and subscribing, we'll see y'all this week. Cheers, Luke Johnson |
