Meet our next president

Incoming Brookings President Cecilia Rouse

On June 28, Cecilia Rouse was named the ninth president of the Brookings Institution.

Dr. Rouse joins us from Princeton University and previously served in the White House as the chair of the Council of Economic Advisers. She is a distinguished labor economist who is committed to public policy based on the best scholarship and a diversity of thought. A deeply accomplished academic, policymaker, and leader, Dr. Rouse possesses the ideal combination of qualities to guide the future of Brookings, and we look forward to welcoming her to our team in January 2024.
