THE NEGRONI SBAGLIATO
 

The Negroni Sbagliato is a drink based on happy accidents! Born from an error one evening at the legendary Bar Basso in Milan, its name literally translates to “Mistaken Negroni.”

Unlike its stronger cousin, which features gin, the Sbagliato swaps in sparkling wine—resulting in a lighter, effervescent take on the classic.
 

As March teases us with glimpses of spring, this Negroni has a refreshing, bubbly lift, making it perfect for those in-between days when the weather wavers.

Lighter than the traditional Negroni but still rich in character, the Sbagliato suits this unpredictable season beautifully.

BAR BASSO, MILAN

Bar Basso holds a special place in Milan’s drinking culture. Established in the 1940s, it became a hub for aperitivo lovers and still remains an essential stop for cocktail enthusiasts.

In the 1970s, while making a Negroni, Mirko Stocchetto mistakenly grabbed a bottle of prosecco instead of gin. Rather than discard the drink, he served it—and the Negroni Sbagliato was born!
