Moonshot: NASA’s most powerful rocket successfully blasted off early this morning on its Moon-or-bust mission, after umpteen delays over the past few months. If you don’t already know, a lot of New Orleans area workers have had a big hand in building the rocket for the Artemis program that eventually hopes to put humans back on the Moon. ‘B’ average: Louisiana students are inching back to their pre-pandemic academic standing. The state released school scores today and Will Sentell tells us how our schools graded out. (We’ll have more this afternoon on the New Orleans area schools. Please check back with NOLA.com.) Our troubled prisons: More disturbing news from the state’s juvenile prisons. In a letter to judges, state officials say the prisons are full and can’t accept additional young offenders. What now? James Finn is on that story. 56 lucky dogs (and 3 humans): A plane carrying 56 rescue dogs from Louisiana crashed in Wisconsin Tuesday. Amazingly, no humans or canines were seriously hurt. Extra snuggles await. Meg Farris from our news partner WWL-TV has the story. Thanks for reading Lunch Line today — and remember, you can keep up all day long at NOLA.com. Bob |
