More than 4.5 million Victorians will receive voting forms in the mail next week for the upcoming council elections but what remains unclear is how many of the candidates listed on the ballots actually want to win office. Congratulations to The Conversation Hour for being selected as a finalist in the 2020 Victorian Homelessness Awards, in the Best Feature Journalism category. The nominated Conversation Hour program on February 26 focused on older women and homelessness. The judges said the program handled sensitively several talkback callers whose experiences illustrated the subject matter, and enabled further exploration of issues. This builds on a successful year for The Conversation Hour as it recently won an EMPA Award (Emergency Media and Public Affairs) for it's week-long series of broadcast from fire-affected regions. The winner will be announced in November. |
