Will you join us in defending the vulnerable? No Images? Click here Dear friend, Last week, Southern Baptists gathered in Birmingham took several major steps to confront the abuse crisis. Messengers passed a resolution on the evils of sexual abuse and voted for two key changes to SBC governing documents. But as SBC President J.D. Greear reminded us, bold resolutions and sweeping statements are not sufficient to confront the evils of sexual abuse. We must continue to combat this crisis and ensure that every church is safe for survivors and safe from abuse. One important step you can take is to register for the Caring Well Conference. This conference will feature survivors and experts like Beth Moore, Rachael Denhollander, and Susan Codone - all three of whom shared their experiences and heartbreaking stories at our SBC event on sexual abuse. When you attend the Caring Well Conference, you’ll be equipped with the tools you need to confront abuse and defend the vulnerable in your church and community. REGISTER NOW TO SAVELast week, we also launched the Caring Well Challenge, a 12-month, eight-step initiative to ensure that every church is safe for survivors and safe from abuse. If you'd like more information on the Caring Well Challenge, you can join Russell Moore for a conference call on Wednesday, June 19th from 2:00-2:30 PM (CDT). We will start the call promptly at 2:00 PM, so we recommend you call in a few minutes early. To join the call, dial 1-302-202-1106 and enter 683784 when asked for your code. Will you take the next step to ensure that your church is safe for survivors and safe from abuse? The integrity of our Gospel witness is at stake. Sincerely, Phillip Bethancourt P.S.
