The President of the Republic should secure a majority in the National Assembly on the occasion of the legislative elections of 12-19 June 23/05/2022 Fifty days after the second round of the presidential election, the French are being called to the polls again on 12 and 19 June to renew the 577 members of the National Assembly. According to the polls, the President of the Republic should secure a majority with Ensemble. His two main opponents are the New Popular Ecological and Social Union (NUPES) with whom he remains neck and neck with around 26% of the estimated vote and the National Rally with 21% of the estimated vote. |

Health measures and travel conditions in Europe Most of the health measures introduced in response to the Covid-19 pandemic have been lifted in all Member States. As of 16 May, masks are no longer required to be worn at airports and aeroplanes in the European Union, but are left to the discretion of airlines depending on the destination. It is no longer compulsory on public transport in France, Belgium and the Netherlands. A Covid certificate is no longer required for entry into Austria, Bulgaria and Croatia. Map of European recovery plans To respond to the economic and social consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, the EU has set up a €672.5 billion recovery fund, known as the Recovery and Resilience Facility, for Member States in the form of grants and loans. The Council, including those of Bulgaria and Sweden on 3 May, has so far approved 24 plans. 21 countries have received the planned pre-financing and 5 countries have received a first tranche after meeting a series of targets, including Portugal on 10 May. The Commission has not yet approved the Hungarian and Polish plans because of their infringement of the rule of law.
