Australia's second biggest telco Optus will phase out its Virgin Mobile MVNO subsidiary within the next two years, putting 200 jobs at risk.

US Government offices are struggling to remove code created by Kaspersky Lab from their networks to meet a 1 October deadline, following a ban on its use in September last year.

A British collective is suing Google over what it claims is the search company's tracking of 4.4 million iPhone users between August 2011 and February 2012 using a workaround to bypass privacy settings in the Safari browser.

More than half a million routers and other network devices in 54 countries have been infected with malware dubbed VPNFilter by an unknown adversary, with hosts in Ukraine being a particular target, researchers say.

And the FBI has used a court order to gain control of a domain that served as an emergency back-up for VPNFilter, making it possible for infected network devices to now reboot and avoid loading the second and third stage of the malware.

The Federal Court has found that Telstra's use of the word "unlimited" in some ads for its mobile service is misleading, in a complaint brought by rival telco Optus.
