| | | | | Special Exhibition opening June 11, 2019 »My Trabi – 26 Stories About the Cult Car« | | | | |
| | | | | | The Trabant – known as the »Trabi« – was reviled as a »racing cardboard«, sung in popular music and praised by propaganda as an achievement in DDR times. Many complained about the long waiting times and the difficulties of getting spare parts. But only when the production of the »Trabi« ended after the reunification, people realised how many personal stories they connect with the car. 26 of these stories about the »Trabi« will be told by the DDR Museum in its new special exhibition in the foyer of the museum. It will open June 11, 2019 and will be on until September 15, 2019. The entrance to the foyer is free. Until May 30, 2019 you can still see the special exhibition »Born in ‘89 – Children of the Change« at the same place. It shows biographies and displays of people who were born in the last year of the DDR as well as objects illustrating important events and dates of 1989. | | | | |
| | | | | What do you want to know about the DDR? | | | | |
| | | | | The head of research of the DDR Museum Dr Stefan Wolle regularly answers your questions about the DDR in the YouTube series »Ask Dr. Wolle«.
