The Ashland County Sheriff's Office says the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is taking over an investigation incident on the Bad River Reservation.

The Sheriff's Department is actively investigating due to the nature of the threats, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office. 

Protestors gathered near the intersection of Hammond Avenue and N. 58th Street before sunrise. 

Crews cut down the 35 foot tall white spruce Wednesday morning at the Lakeside home of Laurie and Rodney Carlson.
