100 YEARS YOUNG In November 1917, the threemasted schooner ‘Oosterschelde’ was launched at H. Appelo & Sons shipyard. This year the ship celebrates her 100-year anniversary. One hundred years ‘young’, because the ship sails like she never did before! It has been 25 years since the restoration and from that moment the ship has sailed all over the world, followed and admired by a big group of supporters. | |

| OOSTERSCHELDE AND JINC HELP YOUNGSTER SET COURSE FOR THE FUTURE (11-14 SEPTEMBER) The 100-year-old ‘Oosterschelde’ is going to work together with JINC to help youngsters set course to prepare themselves better for the labour market. VMBO students from LMC Veenoord in Rotterdam-South will get the chance to develop their ‘Next Century Skills’ by hands-on experience on board. The focus of the program will be on personal leadership: What can I do to positively influence my life. Mayor of Rotterdam A. Aboutaleb will personally come by to wish ‘Oosterschelde’ and her young crew bon voyage. |
