Only one site emerges as the potential home of the new performing arts center

The new performing arts center in Lafayette will likely be built at the site near Cajun Field.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette submitted the lone response to a request for proposal from Lafayette Consolidated Government for land to build a replacement for the Heymann Performing Arts Center, LCG officials announced late Thursday.

No proposal was submitted to build it in downtown Lafayette.
