As Lewis Hamilton crossed the finish line in Abu Dhabi in December to take his 11th victory of the season, this year's scheduled opener in Australia seemed an age away. Oh, how wrong we were...

No one could have predicted what would have happened next, but we're now just one week away from racing returning to our screens. We know it won't quite compare to the bone-shaking, spine-tingling, hair-raising rush of hearing those engines trackside, but it's a huge leap in the right direction.

As the sporting world adapts to virtual fans, this week, we're asking you - the sport's most dedicated fans - to help us create a virtual grandstand from the comfort of your sofa.
As ever, we're bringing you content from across the Motorsport Network to help you Fill the Racing Void before the cars hit the track in Austria at 10am next Friday. We're also continuing our Which Track & Why? series, with a key member of the AlphaTauri F1 team telling us about his favourite track.
And don't forget, every time you book a ticket with Motorsport Tickets, you receive our exclusive content pack, worth £124. Receive access to 5000+ hours of video and on-demand content on Motorsport.TV, plus access to Autosport Plus and Motorsport.com Prime. For a taster now, scroll down to see what’s on offer below...
FEATURE | WHICH TRACK & WHY
With domestic sport beginning to happen behind-closed-doors, F1 will be the first truly global sport to begin since the pandemic took hold. In typical F1 fashion, the sport will be travelling far and wide to some iconic locations. In our Which Track and Why? series, we're asking faces from around the paddock to tell us about their favourite circuits.
This week, we speak to Peter Boardman who's a surfacing designer at AlphaTauri (he takes the aerodynamicists crazy ideas and makes them into cars). He's chosen a fan favourite as his must-attend race, and even turned it into a car-fuelled road trip with hs best friend. Click below to read more about his trip.

JOIN OUR VIRTUAL GRANDSTAND

While the grandstands at the Spielberg circuit will be empty next weekend, we want to see how you'll be enjoying the race from home, to create a Virtual Grand(sofa)stand.
Kit yourself out in your favourite merch, pour yourself a glass of your favourite energy drink (or something stronger) and get your race face on! Take a photo of yourself race ready in front of your TV, send it to us on social media, and you could feature in our fan-filled virtual stand.
