Can you believe that July is right around the corner? If you feel like you’ve not seen much of London’s sights and sounds so far this year and want to make the most of the summer, you’ll be pleased to know that July 1 also marks the opening of Underbelly Festival, primed and ready to ensure your 2021 summer starts with a bang!
Taking over a new home in Cavendish Square, you can find this live entertainment bonanza just off Oxford Circus with its famous Spiegeltent, a host of summer bars and food trucks to satiate those street food cravings.
Alongside its savoury, sweet, boozy and non-boozy offerings, the festival also boasts a line-up of over 60 shows, including cabaret superstars Bernie Dieter with a brand new show ‘Berlin Underground’ and ‘Frisky and Mannish: Pop Lab’. If you’re after a chuckle, comedians Rhod Gilbert, Marcus Brigstocke, Zoe Lyons and many more are on-hand to keep you tickled.
Maybe you’ve become a drag connoisseur over lockdown and, if that’s the case, head to the ‘Sickening 90s Drag Prom’ from the makers of ‘Death Drop’. You can also pop into live podcasts, like ‘Hoovering’ with Jessica Fostekew and special guest Jo Brand, ‘A Gay and a NonGay’, ‘Films to be Buried With’ with Brett Goldstein and more.
This entertainment extravaganza is also a family-friendly affair with Lost in Translation Circus’ ‘Hotel Paradiso’, CBBC’s Crackerjack!’s Sam and Mark performing their ‘On The Road Show’, a family dance party with Baby Loves Disco and loads more.
To avoid disappointment, make sure you snap up your ticket quick before heading out into central London to get lost in this unique festival. |
