JOIN US IN BRUSSELS OR ONLINE International Banking Summit Banks in a Deglobalizing World: Delivering for Economy and Society |
|
This year, we have joined forces with the International Banking Federation (IBFed) for a special edition of our flagship event dedicated to international and European banking policy. In our International Banking Summit 2023, we will dedicate a session to what role banks play in addressing the global climate change and sustainable transition needs in the context of the current energytransition, deglobalization, fragmentation, protectionism, and macroeconomic situation. How are banks incorporating climate change considerations in their business strategies and risk management? What are key challenges in the current context and what is needed to facilitate progress in the short, medium, and long term? How can reporting standards help deliver on sustainability commitments and facilitate risk management? How to ensure that the sustainability reporting rules across jurisdictions work well together to empower investors and incentivize an accelerated pace of transition? What role does transition finance play in climate risk mitigation and how can it be reflected in the risk management and supervisory approaches? What is the risk of regulatory arbitrage in the absence of harmonized regulatory response around the globe to climate risks? The event will take place in Brussels and bring together a combined in-person and online audience of more than 450 policymakers, experts, representatives from banks, and international financial institutions. |
