State of the Art / Art of the State
Open through Thursday, July 12, 9 PM
It has been an inspirational 9 months with artists and visitors from all over North Carolina.  But alas, the 600+ artworks will only be on display through tomorrow, Thursday, July 12 at 9 PM.  Our CAM Café will be open until 9 PM Thursday with a full dinner menu and 1/2 price bottles of wine, so stop in before or after your final browse of this extensive exhibition.

Museum School Summer Session is off and running, however there are still plenty of Weekend Workshops and Classes yet to start.  Take a look at the catalogue and register before slots fill up.
There is a Blue Intensive Workshop this weekend with Catherine Cross, and a full day Kids@CAMp all next week with Brooks Koff.

Opera House Theatre Company

An evening that's sure to have you humming along and your feet tapping when Ray Kennedy, long time director and choreographer for Opera House Theatre Company, combines his love for the Great American Songbook with a musical preview of Sunset Boulevard and Violet, his two upcoming summer productions. The music of George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and Rodgers & Hart begins a program which will include Wilmington theater favorites Cassandra Vallery (Norma Desmond) and Kendra Goehring-Garrett (Violet Karr), the leads in the upcoming shows performing with Ray, along with Sunset Boulevard co-stars: Coleman Cox and Eric Johann, followed by conversation and Q&A. 6:30 pm: cash bar opens.

Filmmaker Shannon Silva gives an overview of her body of work, including the short narrative film Baby Oil, currently on view in CAM's North Carolina Arts Council Artist Fellowship 2017 Award Exhibition. Her feature documentary, It's A Girl Thing: Tween Queens and The Commodification of Girlhood, was awarded Best Social Documentary at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival. Shannon is Associate Chair and Associate Professor, UNC Wilmington Film Studies Department and founder of UNCW's Visions Film Festival.
