Here's what we've worked on in 2018... No Images? Click here Dear friend, What does it mean to live a Christian life? To advocate for life at all stages? To pursue real racial unity in our communities? To orient families toward the gospel instead of an increasingly secular culture? These are just a few of the questions we have tackled in 2018 at the ERLC. Through our work in Washington, D.C. and around the country, we have worked tirelessly to fulfill our mission of engaging the culture with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and equipping Christians like you to think through issues of critical importance. Here are just a few of the things we’ve worked on in 2018: Throughout the year, our legal team worked to defend life and religious liberty through the court system, filing numerous friend-of-the-court briefs and working to bring awareness to important cases. And we won - Masterpiece Cakeshop and NIFLA were two major victories at the Supreme Court for freedom of conscience. We’ve been working in the pews of our churches as well, equipping Christians to navigate difficult cultural issues. As families deal with questions of technology, pornography, school, aging parents, and countless other challenges, we centered our 2018 National Conference on the theme of the cross-shaped family in order to provide families with wisdom and guidance from God’s word on these issues. We also worked to continue our denomination’s focus on important issues of racial unity, hosting the MLK50 Conference in Memphis to bring together church leaders to work through these issues and raising $1.5 million in college scholarships for Memphis-area minority students. We have also redoubled our efforts on behalf of the cause of life — for the defenseless unborn who are created in the image of God. Through Evangelicals for Life, we march for the unborn, petition our lawmakers, and speak on behalf of those the world wishes to silence. In the midst of this event in 2018, and through our Psalm 139 ministry, we generated enough support this year alone to place ultrasound machines at five crisis pregnancy centers across the country, including locations like Baltimore, Kansas City, Dallas, and New Orleans. Finally, as we head into 2019, we will continue to engage the culture with a newfound emphasis on Gospel courage in our churches and the public square. Our country needs fearless voices for both courage and civility, and the ERLC will work to equip Christians in these areas. Our 2019 National Conference will bring together pastors and politicians to focus on Gospel courage in the public square. Two things make our work in all of these areas possible: support and courage. Every dollar given will help us continue to be a voice for life, marriage, religious liberty, and gospel courage in the public square. Will you partner with us today?
