Hi there,
👀 Democratic U.S. Rep. Melanie Stansbury, of New Mexico, once again left Georgia Republican U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene visibly flustered during a House Oversight Subcommittee hearing Tuesday, prompting Greene to slam her gavel repeatedly and shout over objections.
🙃 A so-called "Hetero Awesome Fest" held in Boise, Idaho, over the weekend ended in disaster as its mere dozens of attendees witnessed its organizer fight a musician while a racist local podcast host bragged about the city's lack of Black residents. And no, The Advocate's Ryan Adamczeski can't believe she wrote that sentence about an actual event either.
🏛️ U.S. Rep. Robert Garcia of California was elected as the new ranking Democratic member of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, making him the first out gay immigrant to lead the party on one of Congress’s most powerful and combative panels.
Onward and upward,
