We're hosting another Repair Café at Makerspace North!
Fixers will be on hand to help you repair items like small appliances, clothing, chairs etc.

Learn about Vermicomposting & Build Your Own Worm Studio

Do you want to compost but live in an apartment without a green bin service? Are you curious to learn how to build things with your own hands?

During this full day workshop, you will learn the basics of vermicomposting and build your own Worm Studio out of cedar wood. Composting with worms is easy, free of smells and pests, and we'll show you how.

Tinkering School Workshops for 8-12 year olds!

Our Tinkering School Workshops are here! These hands-on workshops for the next generation of do-it-yourselfers are all about learning new skills with a focus on collaboration and environmental education. 

PD Day Workshop: Find colour in unexpected places and learn to paint with plants you can find in your own backyard! This full day workshop will take participants through the process of making natural plant-based inks and using them to make their own original artwork.

Home Plumbing Demo

There's no need to fear home plumbing!
We will cover all the basics of how home plumbing systems work. You’ll learn how water pressure is affected by pipe size and why your shower suddenly gets hot when somebody flushes a toilet. You'll understand how the drainage system works in your home and how ‘stacks’ control both odour and flow. We'll talk about the various types of pipes, including copper, PVC and ABS, and how they fit together.
