October 7th upended politics in Washington. On the one hand, they showed remarkable support for Israel (a Senate resolution passed 100-0, its House counterpart 412-10). On the other, they exposed and exacerbated rifts within the Democratic Party. Will the changes be permanent or temporary? What opportunities or dangers does it raise?
