Celebrating Seiji Ozawa, jazz legend Herbie Hancock and more
| This Saturday, hear Japanese pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii perform Rachmaninov’s fiendishly difficult Third Piano Concerto live with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Tsujii was just 12 years old when he made his major debut in Tokyo. He's performed on the world's most famous stages under the baton of renowned conductors including Vasily Petrenko and former Sydney Symphony Orchestra artistic director Vladimir Ashkenazy. This is the first stop on his second tour to Australia, where he will give solo recitals as well as performing piano concertos with the Queensland, Sydney and Tasmanian symphony orchestras. The orchestra, under the baton of Eduardo Strausser, will also perform Prokofiev's final symphony, along with a beautiful waltz by Tchaikovsky from the Sleeping Beauty ballet. Join Ed Le Brocq this Saturday, 19 October at 8:30pm, from the Queensland Performing Arts Centre. Live on ABC Classic and the ABC listen app. | |
