Watching Nicholas: We’re still watching the Gulf of Mexico this morning, where Tropic Storm Nicholas is making its way toward Texas and could be a hurricane at landfall. In Louisiana, we’re expecting rain, which could be heavy in the southwestern part of the state.
Solar storm: Thinking about solar in the wake of the massive electricity outages following Hurricane Ida? Our Halle Parker checked in how some folks with solar setups made out the last two weeks.
Menu mission: The Community Kitchen at Second Harvest Food Bank is a busy spot in the slowest of times. But toss in a hurricane and massive power outages and the pace becomes even more frenetic, dining writer Ian McNulty reports.
Slap city: Speaking of Ida, you might want to get your slappin' hand ready. Around the region we could see a boom in some mosquito populations.
