Labor Dept. proposes disability hiring reward program The US Labor Department wants to encourage businesses that contract with the federal government to hire people with disabilities with its new Excellence in Disability Inclusion award program. Paid family leave may help increase breastfeeding rates A study in the American Journal of Public Health associated paid family leave policies with a 1.3 percentage point increase in women who exclusively breastfed their children at age 6 months, and women with middle- and high-income status in states that enacted paid family leaves had higher rates of ever breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding at 3 months, as well as prolonged breastfeeding duration.
