Dear Reader, Bitcoin’s been beaten up by its little brother recently. The price of Ethereum has outpaced bitcoin’s rises, and has even been rising when bitcoin falls. Why is that? An obvious mainstream reason is Ethereum’s impending ‘hard fork’. This is a giant step change, about to take place in the second-biggest blockchain network. It’s set to happen on Wednesday, 11 August. Labelled Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 1559 — Ethereum’s about have a technical adjustment to significantly improve how transactions are processed. It’ll also reduce the supply of the ether token. Some believe it SHOULD send the price even higher. Perhaps. It’s a weird new world where mainstream rags are predicting price rises of an asset to the very day…but it happens in the crypto world. We’ve seen it with bitcoin ‘halving’ events: periodic adjustments reducing the supply of bitcoin. But, as you’ll see in this new five-part strategy guide, we think the best long-term gains in this space will be made by those who are NOT led by the news flow. And not wasting time with week-to-week price movements. Yes, what’s coming is a significant step forward for a crypto which, earlier in the year, already was worth more than Disney, PayPal and Nestlé. Its founder, Vitalik Buterin, is now a billionaire at 27. Some of Ryan Dinse’s followers have done rather well out of it as well. The New Money Investor co-editor put an urgent buy on Ethereum in September 2019. Subscribers who took that advice could have bought in at AU$261. At the time of writing, it’s trading at AU$3,559. I don’t say this to make you feel bad for not getting in earlier (if that’s the case). The point is, Ryan very much sees Ethereum as a long game. He sees it heading for $10,000 eventually. He may or may not be right, but stresses that weekly and even monthly moves are of little importance — even the ones anticipated for next week. After all, cryptos price swings can be quite volatile. Instead, what you need to be focusing on is what lies at the foundation of Ethereum. Because it really does constitute the roadmap of the new money game going forward. Understand Ethereum, and you have a good head start in understanding the great disruption that has only just begun. And the opportunities — not just in Ethereum but in projects using it as a platform — that are waiting to be jumped on right now. All of that is unwrapped for you in ‘How to Play the New Game’.
