We are now at the end of my 6-week Zoom courses, Einstein for Everyone, and Our Universe, the Known & the Unknown. A third course, Journey into the Micro-World, Elementary Particles & Quantum Mechanics, will begin May 19. These are courses I have given for ten years at UCLA Osher Institute, and for several years before that at CSUCI Osher Institute. We are following the same format, but now online using the ZOOM app. All my courses assume no prior physics or math expertise — I will explain everything you need to know. My classes are recorded. You get access to the class videos at no additional charge, so if you miss a class, you can view the video at a time convenient to you. Our third course is: Journey into the MicroWorld, Elementary Particles & Quantum Mechanics Time: Tuesdays from 10:00am to noon PDT Dates: May 19, 26; June 2, 9, 16, 23 Tuition: $40.00 To register for the class, click here. Brief Description: Deep within our everyday world lurks the micro-world of molecules, atoms, and even smaller particles. This nether realm is stranger than the most imaginative science fiction. Yet its bizarre nature enables our lives, and determines the fate of the universe. No visas or math skills required. For more information, click here. Optional Book: Quantum Mechanics: Strange Theory of the Micro-World Everything you need to enjoy this course will be explained in the lectures. For those who prefer reading, or who wish to explore further, this book is specifically written to complement this course. It is available through Amazon, or at a better price, through our website here. Best Wishes, Robert |
