As are many of you, I am sheltering at home. Joan and I wish all of you our very best — stay safe and healthy. I miss teaching at Osher and have been exploring other possibilities. A friend introduced us to Zoom, an app for video conferencing via the internet. It’s a great way to chat with friends. It feels almost face-to-face, but each of you is in your own home. I am trying to organize an on-line class to replace what we had at CSUCI Osher and at UCLA Osher. I would teach my regular Osher classes, but each of us would be safe in our own home. It would be less expensive, and all of us would avoid the time and expense of driving and parking. I would talk and present slides as usual, which you could see and hear, and each of you could ask questions as if this were a normal class. This also provides an opportunity for people beyond the Los Angeles area to join us — from anywhere in the U.S., or outside the country. For each of you, using Zoom would be FREE and fairly easy. I am thinking of starting classes in early April. Each class lasts 2 hours and would be given once a week for 6 weeks. So, I ask for your feedback. Do you like the idea of an on-line class? If so, what days/times work for you (please specify time zone if not West Coast, or which country) Which of these courses appeals to you?
