IETM Belgrade Plenary Meeting 2022 - Registrations are now open! We are very excited to announce that registrations for our IETM Belgrade Plenary Meeting 2022 are now open! Organised within the frame of theBitef festival 2022 in Belgrade, Serbia, the meeting will be a vibrant 4-day event, full of artistic works to explore, talks and participatory discussions, a pre-meeting excursion and plenty of training, pitching and networking opportunities. A provisional programme and practical information surrounding your visit to Belgrade are now available, and will be updated with more information closer to the event.
Check out the latest Local Journeys for Change Projects In last month’s newsletter we announced that Local Journeys for Change (LJC) had officially kicked off, where participants had the chance to introduce themselves and their projects, which are versatile in nature and form, yet all aiming towards a fairer, more inclusive local scene. The selected projects address a diverse range of topics: empowerment, inclusion, community and advocacy.
Over the course of May, we showcased all twenty four projects across our social media channels, highlighting our member’s hard work and creative outlet.

Novos Percursos para Campanhã Visões Úteis designed Novos Percursos para Campanhã, a project that aims to boost new paths of specialized artistic training. They hope to prove that life stories can be written differently, counter-currently, and inspire more and more young students to take a chance on this profession, while having a circle of educators and local institutions to support them in their search for expert academic training.
Pre-festival workshop and 5th Roma Heroes Festival At the 5th Roma Heroes – International Roma Theatre Festival in May 2022 in Budapest, beside putting on stage inspiring theatre performances, more than twenty European Roma theatres and theatre professionals made an ambitious declaration demanding that Roma theatre should be recognised and appreciated according to its merits.
May was the busiest month so far with productions of partnerships Rural Touring, WOODS, Habitat, and SlowMo heading out on tour. In June, we will see an even busier month, with a Perform Europe performance happening almost daily across Europe.

At the Perform Europe 13 June event the Perform Europe team will share its findings, artists and presenters from the selected partnerships will share their experiences and representatives from the European Commission will contribute. #MeToo in Culture: From call-outs to structural change When it comes to #MeToo in the cultural sector, IETM and our SHIFT project partners believe it is high time to shift the focus from unique cases to macro-structures, from individual experiences to collective ones. Through research and case studies, the final publication of our joint SHIFT work on Gender & Power Relations puts forward solution-oriented strategies for combating sexual harassment and power abuse in the arts, and for creating equitable and safe professional environments for art workers.
Supporting Relevance: Ideas and strategies for inclusive, fair and flexible arts funding Amidst the crisis, simply “more money” for the arts is no longer enough. Our publication Supporting Relevance unpacks the notions of inclusive, fair and flexible funding, describes the tensions that may occur when designing such funding programmes and schemes, and brings inspiration from a few case studies. It also offers a set of recommendations for funders on how to support the arts in the most relevant way.
CADO #4 Invitation - EYE.Net 2.0 THÉÂTRE DU PÉLICAN (France) presents CADO, a festival of theatre creation, by and for young people, based in Clermont Ferrand, France. The festival will present five days of original performances in a professional environment, with meetings, workshops, readings and screenings to discuss creative artistic practises, in order to listen to what young people have to say.
