Retrospective: Ocean Initiatives since 1995...

For over 20 years, Surfrider Foundation Europe has been assisting citizens in cleaning up beaches, lakes and rivers during the Ocean Initiatives. Whether you want to organize your own beach cleanup or join an existing one: It’s easy! For its 24th edition (march 22 to 25), Surfrider returns to this event which focuses on changing behaviors

#TrashInvasion: a pollution campaign to encourage action!

For the 24th edition of the Ocean Initiatives, Surfrider Foundation Europe, in partnership with the advertising agency Young & Rubicam Paris, reveals its Trash Invasion campaign, 100% digital and...polluting! This European wide campaign aims to remind the omnipresence of waste in our daily lives and promote a simple solution : the collection of waste during Ocean Initiatives.

Pauline Ado commits to oceans' protection alongside Surfrider

Pauline Ado, current ISA surf World champion, decided to get involved alongside Surfrider Foundation Europe. As the association’s ambassador, Pauline will take part in actions amongst water sport lovers, raising awareness on the urgent need to protect the ocean.

OCEAN INITIATIVE  

CALVADOS CHAPTER

Calvados Chapter set up a great Ocean Initiative last March 11th : more than 60 volunteers came to help clean the beach. They collected more than 600 kg of waste on the Arromanches beach. Check out this event on the facebook page of Calvados Chapter.

OCEAN INITIATIVE 

PORTUGAL CHAPTERS

The campaign Ocean Initiatives will start soon and local chapters are all set up for the main weekend of this campaign. All chapters of Portugal (The Azores, Ericeira, Lisbon and Porto) have organized their beach cleanup on March 25th. You can see the event on the Facebook Page.

Ocean Initiatives are one of the main event of Surfrider Foundation Europe. Each year, more than 40 000 volunteers participate to a beach or river clean up.

For this edition of the Ocean Initiatives 2018, we wanted to praise the efforts of the men and women who fight every day against ocean litter and pollution.
