Tabatha Caso named Executive Director of Eastern Area Agency on Aging! |
|
On behalf of the EAAA Board, we are excited to share the news that Interim Executive Director, Tabatha Caso, has accepted the role as Executive Director.
The board’s decision to offer this permanent leadership role took into consideration a few factors. Notably, Tabatha received high praise in a 3-month review of her time as Interim Executive Director. Exemplifying the overall feedback, one person shared, “she makes everyone feel heard, she is steady, and reliable at the helm!”

Dear Marci, I have a Qualified Health Plan (QHP) from my state’s health insurance Marketplace. I’m turning 65 soon, though. Should I enroll in Medicare if I have Marketplace coverage? -Tina (Cortland, NY)

Scammers are calling, emailing, and texting, trying to convince Medicare beneficiaries they can get a new plastic Medicare card and all they need to do is give them a Medicare number to pay for it. If you believe you have been a victim of a Medicare card scam, call us at EAAA for support and more information. |

THE BENEFIT OF ANNUAL VET VISITS From Furry Friends Food Bank The benefit of bringing your animal to the vet yearly can be put simply: it helps your pet live a long, healthy, happy life!
Routine testing of younger pets provides a baseline of their normal values. Older pets especially benefit from a routine screening for common diseases. |
| Eating correct amounts of food is important, but it's also important to get all the nutrients you need. Older adults typically require fewer calories, but more nutrients -- which makes it very important to consume foods that are nutrient-dense. To eat nutrient-dense foods across all the food groups, you may need to make some changes in your food and drink choices. You can move toward a healthier eating pattern by making shifts in food choices over time. Click here for some ideas. For more information on healthy eating as you age, visit the National Institute on Aging. |
