Most Americans back tougher gun laws, but support among Republicans plummets even after Atlanta, Boulder shootings, exclusive poll finds

A USA TODAY/Ipsos Poll conducted after the Atlanta and Boulder mass shootings finds two-thirds of Americans back tougher gun laws. But among Republicans, support for such measures has cratered from 54% in 2019 to 35% today.
