Hurricane Laura, now a Category 2 storm, is slamming Louisiana, leaving hundreds of thousands without power. Follow our updates.

"Catastrophic storm surge, hurricane force winds and flash flooding will continue this morning," the National Hurricane Center said in its 7 a.m. ET update, with "hurricane conditions spreading farther inland across southwestern Louisiana."
