Aurora gunman's license was revoked, but he kept his gun. That's the norm in Illinois

Illinois State Police sent convicted felon Gary Martin a letter in 2014 giving him 48 hours to get rid of his Smith & Wesson. He kept the handgun, and used it Friday to kill five and wound six at the Harry Pratt Co. plant. Fewer than half of Illinois gun owners whose licenses are revoked give up their weapons.
