Attorney General William Barr is refusing to testify because of a dispute over the hearing's format. Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., won approval Wednesday for an extra hour of questions that could be posed at the scheduled hearing by staffers, in addition to lawmakers. Republicans had argued that it would be unprecedented for staffers to question the attorney general, as if he were being interrogated. "The next step is seeking a contempt citation against the attorney general," Nadler said. |
