As US hits new record for daily coronavirus cases, Florida and Texas pause reopening plans and close bars to limit the spread of the virus

The U.S. reported 39,972 daily cases of the coronavirus on Thursday, a new daily record, according to a count maintained by Johns Hopkins University. Meanwhile, a day after the governors of Texas and Florida said they're halting reopening plans, Texas is closing bars while Florida is ordering them to stop serving alcohol.
