Find out the details here. FreeBSD & Solaris return as client in 5.6.2We have recently released Version 5.6.2 of the P5 Software Suite. Please find the list of changes and bugfixes in the Release Notes. The P5 software suite now officially supports macOS Mojave 10.14. As of P5 version 5.6, Archiware had discontinued support for FreeBSD and Solaris platforms and put them into Maintenance Mode. The reason behind the discontinuation is the insufficient tape support provided by these operating systems. However, since then, we have received feedback from our customers regarding FreeBSD and Solaris on client machines which they are hoping to continue using. So in version 5.6.2, we have re-introduced support for FreeBSD and Solaris in a client-only version, allowing customers to continue using Solaris and FreeBSD systems as P5 clients. Customers wishing to run their P5 server on FreeBSD or Solaris with tape support will have to use version 5.5.6 as previously announced. This version will be supported in its current state for another 2 years. The software is available for download now from our website. If you have any questions regarding the new version, please do not hesitate to contact our support team. For questions regarding licensing, please contact sales@archiware.com.
