A new report published in the journal Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology recommends best practices for hand hygiene in healthcare settings to protect patients and providers from infection. In this July 25 webinar, one of the co-authors of the report, Emily E. Sickbert-Bennett, PhD, MS, CIC, provides insight on the report’s findings, including recommendations for glove use, minimizing contamination of sinks and sink drains, maintenance of healthy hand skin and fingernails, and measuring hand hygiene compliance.
