[New post] Here We Go Again

Even though 2020 has been a crazy year, I've been having a burning feeling to come back to writing and producing a website. It's something that I thought about strongly before the world turned upside-down and even with my bananas schedule, that desire has been steadfast. So, hopefully, this is the first of many articles on my relaunched website.

The plan is to just write. The big problem I had in the past was that I put too much pressure on myself to create content for this site and I'd feel very burned out and suffering from major writer's block. This is supposed to be a hobby and something fun, rather than it turn into a job or a chore.

Plus, there's also real life. Eleven years ago, I had an opportunity to make this my full-time job, but I chose teaching because that was my dream job. I don't regret that decision for a minute. However, because of life in general, that meant that my dedication to this site had to be put aside. At this point in my life, I think I can manage writing a few articles a week without sacrificing my personal life and my other hobbies.

I do have one project that I'd like to work on: I want to review as many movies as I can since I was born. I miss watching movies on a regularly and I want to get back into it. I've already got a couple of dozen reviews ready to be published and I should be able to put out at least one a day for the next little while. However, again, I will keep doing so as long it’s fun and that I don't feel like I must churn out review after review to keep things going.

Speaking of reviews, the older reviews have been taken down momentarily. I will be making them available later this month. I want to rebuild the review listing pages and give each article another revision. Even a decade later, I'm still finding typos and errors (try to find all 27 in this article).

The podcasts are gone for now. I may start something up again in the future, but it's a ton of work to do properly and it was the thing I loathed towards the end. I may do one-off podcasts from time to time but there won't be any anytime soon. Since much of the material is dated and is mostly news related (for movies and video games), I've decided not to upload them. For whatever reason you want to hear one, feel free to contact me and we can talk about it.

For those who have followed the blog for the last 18 years and rolling their eyes in my latest attempt to revive this site, I don't blame you. My goal is the have fun with this site and write as often as possible. I've said that before, but I've had trouble maintaining it. I hope this time is different and I hope you enjoy it!

Also, for those who are checking this out because they got a notification and they don't even remember subscribing, thank you for doing so in the first place. I hope that I will get back to a level of writing that got you interested in the madness brewing inside of my mind in the first place!
