We will explore a range of ways in which textiles and environments affect each other – and our planet. Changed by Heat – BATIK Morning 10-12 : Using the ancient Indonesian method of batik – a hot wax resist technique – create a circular piece of artwork which may be developed further. Changed by our Hands – Fabric manipulation and free stitching. 1:30-3:30. Start anew or embellish your batik if you attended the morning session. Jane Bower is a specialist arts teacher with wide experience of teaching primary children and adults throughout the UK and abroad. She lectures at Cambridge University’s Faculty of Education and author of Arts & Textiles books and articles. £7:50 per session or £12.50 for full day. Concessions: £5.00 Materials provided.
