Many congratulations to Eleanor Whalley who was licensed as the new priest-in-charge for Soham and Wicken on Monday. The parish church is a fine ancient building, going back to an Anglo-Saxon foundation by St Felix the apostle of East Anglia. But the living church was equally impressive on Monday, filling the pews, and full of the stories of new initiatives started while they waited for Eleanor to come. So the licensing ended: “This service of worship is over: let the service of our lives once again begin. Alleluia! Amen.”
