The pope's roots: As you've no doubt heard, the Catholic Church has a new pope, and he's an American. But did you know his ancestral roots can be traced back to maternal grandparents in New Orleans' 7th Ward? Hannah Levitan has the story.
Consent decree: The U.S. Justice Department's oversight of the NOPD was recently given permission to wrap up in the next two years. But President Donald Trump's call for a review of all police reform agreements and his purge of attorneys in the Civil Rights Division have raised doubts it will even last that long. John Simerman and Missy Wilkinson have the details.
Recounted: Voters approved the renewal of the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office millage by two votes last weekend, prompting a recount. On Thursday, election officials found two uncounted votes. Sophie Kasakove was there.
