Share Your Story by Participating in a Performance Project Artist, Cherie Sampson, is working on a new performance project titled “every.single.one” that will depict her own story with BRCA+ breast cancer. The completed work will incorporate movement within a theatrical environment of video projections and soundscapes. Ms. Sampson would like to broaden the narrative by including other voices of hereditary cancer individuals to bring greater understanding and awareness to audiences about the comprehensive and diverse experience of hereditary cancer. She requests participation by both women and men who are willing to share their stories through an audio interview by phone or Skype. The interview would take approximately ½ hour to 45 minutes and will be recorded. Excerpts from interviews will be heard in soundscapes that may be incorporated into short films associated with the project. Later, the interviews will be edited and can become part of a digital library of stories about our collective experiences that may be archived by FORCE. Anonymity will be insured, as per participants’ requests. Ms. Sampson is an Associate Professor of Art at the University of Missouri teaching digital storytelling and video in the School of Visual Studies. If you are interested in sharing your story, please contact Cherie Sampson at: [email protected] |
