Emmeline Edwards, Ph.D. June 21, 2022 Emotional well-being is strongly linked with many aspects of health across the lifespan. For example, high levels of emotional well-being are associated with a 20 percent decrease in the risk of death from all causes among healthy people, a 70 percent decrease in the likelihood of starting smoking among high school girls, and a 36 percent decrease in the likelihood of developing mobility problems among older adults. |
ErinBurke Quinlan, Ph.D. June 17, 2022 I was pleased to organize a panel presentation on the National Institutes of Health (NIH)Brain Research Through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies(BRAIN) Initiativeat the International Congress on Integrative Medicine and Health (ICIMH) in May. To kick off the session, I gave an overview of the BRAIN Initiative, a partnership between five Federal agencies including NIH thats revolutionizing our understanding of the human brain.
