"[Mindfulness training] is very small work, but it has great outcomes, or consequences." — Mary Sullivan Smith, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, senior vice president, chief operating officer, and chief nursing officer, New England Baptist Hospital

Nurses busy with patient care generally don't take time for their own self-care and nurse executive Mary Sullivan Smith, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, wanted to change that.

In the third story of a weeklong series commemorating nurse leaders during National Nurses Week, Sullivan Smith spoke to HealthLeaders about how mindfulness training can benefit nurses and help create a healthy workplace.
