Health care reporter Emily Woodruff has a look at how the crisis has hit home for many in New Orleans, and whether there is any hope for relief in the coming weeks. The doctors are out: The Louisiana legislature's efforts to outlaw abortion — most recently a defeated bill that would have allowed women and doctors to be criminally charged with murder — has cost New Orleans a major convention. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has canceled its April 2023 conference, saying it will go instead "to a state whose legislative climate is consistent with our values."
