Scientists have managed for the first time to strongly align a relatively complex structure - the biomolecule indole - without the presence of a laser field. In the future, it should also be possible to use the new method on other complex molecules such as amino acids, neurotransmitters or vitamins, and possibly even entire proteins.
Researchers have developed a technique to create a highly uniform and scalable semiconductor wafer, paving the way to higher chip yield and more cost-efficient semiconductors.
