| | | | Riddles, and events, to consider In today's newsletter note, I’ll take you on another Women’s History Month journey to discover a woman who was a rocket scientist at NASA, a trailblazer for diversity and inclusion in STEM and a hero for all aspiring scientists out there. Can you guess who she is?
Riddle 1: She was one of four Black employees at the lab when hired, but she soon proved her worth, and her talent inspired her. Riddle 2: Her enthusiasm for outreach programs was contagious, and her dedication to diversity was truly outrageous. Riddle 3: For 34 years, she contributed to NASA's programs, as a computer scientist who broke down barriers and broke down norms. Riddle 4: Her work on the Centaur rocket project was vital, and her contributions laid the foundation for space shuttle launches to be a title. Riddle 5: She was an equal employment opportunity counselor, and her efforts to promote diversity in STEM were truly stellar. And the answer to all these riddles is…Annie Easley! That’s right, Annie Easley was a brilliant rocket scientist at NASA, who dedicated her life to making the world a better place for all aspiring scientists, regardless of their background, gender or race.
