Karin Székessy: Two cut outs, 1971 |
Like every year, Galerie Clairefontaine presents a group show with various themes before the summer vacation. Starting out with the serious topic of our world’s ongoing political crises, the portrayal of Asya taken in 1996 by Stanley Greene (who unfortunately passed away very recently) has become an icon of women’s fate in war today. Karin Székessy’s cut out dress from 1971 leads over to the erotic theme in her typical bold style, followed by Lucien Clergue’s sensual Nu Zébré from 2012. Happy bathers in the tub at Club Allegro Fortissimo in Paris 1990 are in dialogue with many other images such as Roger Ballen’s Birdwoman etc. |
