11 a.m. — MPR News with Angela Davis About 12 percent of people in America have sleep apnea, but many of them are undiagnosed. One of the most common signs that someone might have sleep apnea is loud snoring. But, it’s not just the noise that’s a problem. People with severe sleep apnea can stop breathing for significant amounts of time. A sleep expert joins Angela Davis in the studio to answer questions. Also, on the program, a conversation about seasonal affective disorder, also known as SAD. It’s a problem that worsens for many people during the long winters in Minnesota. A psychologist talks about some of the symptoms and best treatment options.
