ACCELERATED EASING OF RESTRICTIONS ANNOUNCED

From Monday 26th April, hospitality venues such as cafés, pubs and restaurants can reopen, along with tourist accommodation.

Non-essential retail outlets and close contact services such as beauty salons can also reopen, in addition to indoor attractions and public buildings such as galleries, museums and libraries.

Non-essential work inside people’s homes will be permitted, subject to mitigations, which will enable tradesmen to deliver more services.

The Scottish Government has launched a toolkit of materials to support businesses across Scotland to reopen safely.

The toolkit includes posters, a leaflet and various digital assets businesses can use to promote the latest guidance and regulations to employees and customers.

NEW: Coronavirus Guidance for the Tourism and Hospitality Sectors

The Scottish Government has updated its guidance for the tourism and hospitality industries in Scotland on how to operate safely during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The guidance was updated on 21st April - make sure you are aware of the latest guidance to protect your business, your employees and your customers.

NEW: Coronavirus Guidance for the Retail and Close Contact Sectors

The Scottish Government has also issued new guidance for the retail sector on operating safely during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

This includes advice on risk assessment and safety measures for staff and customers, as well as an operational guide and checklist for retailers.

It also includes specific advice for close contact services, such as hairdressers and barbers.

Fife Company Launches Mission to Mars

As the world watched NASA’s Mars 2020 Perseverance land on Mars earlier this year, a new business was being launched, offering an online interactive experience for adults to explore the red planet. 

Mission to Mars is the brainchild of Wormit-based Stuart Rogers, who set it up having been made redundant during the COVID-19 pandemic and allows participants to control a robotic rover over a custom-built mars landscape.

Up to £2,000 Funding Available Through SME Brexit Support Fund

The SME Brexit Support Fund is for small and medium sized businesses who are new to importing or exporting. It can help adjust to new customs, rules of origin and VAT rules when trading with the EU.

It could give you up to £2,000 to help with training or professional advice.
